UETTDRRF06B Perform Rescue from a Live LV Panel + HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
In this course you will learn knowledge and skills required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines until medical aid arrives. This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. The course also incorporates training and assessment relating to the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
The essential outcomes of UETTDRRF06B include Emergency procedures for the rescue of a victim from a live LV panel including applying work procedures and instructions as they apply to risk control and personal safety measures, inspection and placement of rescue equipment and identification and labelling of the isolation point; skills required for the rescue of a victim from a live LV panel in accordance with workplace procedures including preparation to perform rescue procedure and; performance and completion of the LV panel rescue procedure including isolating the electricity supply where possible by utilizing the appropriate apparatus, removing the victim from contact with any live conductors/apparatus where necessary in accordance with workplace procedures and facilitating treatment by medical professionals when and where required.
Suitable for employees requiring qualifications as Safety Observers for live low voltage switchboard work to comply with Australian Standards AS/NZS 4836:2011 and Electrical Safety Regulation: 2002 in regards to Safety Observers. For example electricians, apprentices or tradespersons who are near and around electrical control panels and similar.

RECOMMENDED RECERTIFICATION PERIOD
Under the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, it is recommended that those trained in HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation refresh their skills every 12 months. Under the Electrical Safety Regulation you must update UETTDRRF06B Perform Rescue from a Live LV Panel every 12 months to maintain compliance and licencing.
The skills and knowledge described in this unit may require a licence/registration to practice in the work place subject to regulations for undertaking of electrical work. Practice in workplace and during training is also subject to regulations directly related to Occupational Health and Safety, electricity/telecommunications/gas/water industry safety and compliance, environmental protection, anti discrimination and training. Commonwealth, State/Territory or Local Government legislation and regulations may exist that limits the age of operating certain equipment. ESI employees are required to maintain currency in this Unit for authorisation/approval to work on ESI Networks.
